Busy-ness – Redefining Productivity

Recently, I read an article on LinkedIn by Guy Kawasaki called, “Let’s Stop The Glorification of Busy.” In this video, I want to share some thoughts of how that article resonated with me. Prior to taking some time for introspection and get to the core of what it means to be “successful” for myself, I created the formula: Success = Busy + Money Success = Happiness And that this formula was causing me much stress in my relationships at work, at home, at the community and with my spiritual life.

Invocation For Learning

Welcome, welcome, welcome! I’m really excited to have you on board and I wanted to make this video to set the stage for the learning in this course. This video is an invocation to the Divine and it’s an invocation to begin the learning. The invitation here is for yourself to be relaxed, be comfortable and, if it helps, perhaps to even close your eyes and tune yourself into the level of vibration that we’re going to create in this course.

Assessments, Assertions, Declarations

In this video, we quickly summarize how each of the second group of speech acts work together. TRANSCRIPT BELOW

The Power Of Promises For Effective Communication

One of the things that we learn during our lives is that “Promises” are sacrosanct; we can’t break them. By understanding that “promises” are just one of the speech acts that we use in our everyday communication and conversation, we can take control of how we show up to others. When we actually take hold of this speech act, we can see how we can actually design our life and our conversations…

The Human Being

That’s René Descartes and he made great contributions to the main Western narrative and approach to life. While he may have championed the mechanistic view of humans and human beings, he may have left out the other potentially “important bits.” In this video we talk about what it means to be a human. There are 3 things that are common to humans: #1) a body #2) emotions and #3) language. Learning how each of these affects each other is the key to understanding how we can develop effective communication.

Learning & Language

Hi and welcome to this video. In this video, I want to introduce you to a new understanding of language. The idea is this: when we learn, we change; and when we change, it is because we learnt. This idea is significant because we know that change is inevitable. By associating change with learning, we can choose to control the degree of change in our lives. When we learn, we change.

Getting To The Observer You Are

The observer that we are takes actions based on an underlying framework of belief. This framework creates and allows the possibilities for actions that we can take. By learning about the speech acts and how the body, emotions and language come into play, we can approach the observer we are and consciously choose to change in order to create congruency. These concepts are taught more in depth in my e courses: 3 Steps To Improve Your Communication Skills.
